From The Introduction

Humour looms large in many of the stories: the sly aside, the witty turn of phrase and an occasional laugh-out-loud moment. No Cork collection would be complete without a dash of Cork slang or vernacular, whether it be city or rural. If there is any unifying element across the anthology, it is the strong narrative voices that carry the stories, each one distinctive. While we were keen to focus on the contemporary, some stories are set in the past. A good short story is a good story regardless of its place in time.
